Free Google AdSense Earning Course – Lesson 3

If you have a website, you can get it approved in your AdSense account, publish Google ads on your website, and thus earn money from AdSense. However, this is not as simple and easy as you think. AdSense has implemented certain rules to ensure the comfort of both advertisers and users and to create a transparent environment. Website owners should consider these rules when applying for AdSense and should comply with these rules to the maximum extent. Sites that comply with the rules and are suitable for AdSense program policies can get approved. Let’s examine together which steps we should take and what we should pay attention to in order to get approval from AdSense. The nuances required to get a website approved in AdSense are as follows.

  1. The site language being in a supported language
  2. Placing the AdSense ad code on the site correctly
  3. Placing the Ads.txt file on the site correctly
  4. Making the site SEO compatible
  5. Opening About, Contact, and FAQ sections on the site
  6. Sharing quality and original articles on the site
  7. Sharing original image and audio files on the site
  8. High site traffic
  9. The domain age of the site
  10. Adding the site to Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager

What I have stated above are the golden rules that enable a website to get approved in AdSense. I can say that there is no site that cannot get approved if it follows these. Now let’s examine these nuances one by one.

The site language being in a supported language

Google AdSense does not support all languages. Therefore, before opening a website, decide which language that site will be in. If your website is in a language not supported by Google, that site will definitely not be approved. To learn which languages Google AdSense supports, you can click here. Let’s assume that your website’s language is not supported by Google AdSense. In this case, as an alternative, you can open your website in two or more languages. If the main language (first language) of the site is one of the languages supported by Google AdSense, you can get approval.

Placing the AdSense ad code on the site correctly

In some cases, users cannot place AdSense ad codes on the website correctly. As a result, AdSense bots cannot detect these codes on the site and the approval process fails. Therefore, you should be careful when adding AdSense codes to your website and place the codes correctly. It is important to consider the website platform you use to add AdSense codes. For example, there are different methods for websites built on Blogspot, WordPress, or local hosting. A specific approach is required for each platform so that the codes work correctly. In my lesson titled “Placing AdSense Codes on the Website,” I explained all the details about this process step by step. To learn more in detail, you can go to the link and read the lesson.

Placing the Ads.txt file on the site correctly

In almost all advertising platforms such as Google AdSense and others, the Ads.txt file is required. This file is essentially considered an important standard to ensure ad security and create a reliable earning environment. In our lesson titled placing the Ads.txt file on the site, I made a comprehensive explanation about placing the file on the website. You can visit the link for detailed information.

Attention: After placing the Ads.txt file on your website, you may see a warning in your AdSense account stating that the Ads.txt file was not found. This may appear for a long time. If you have done everything correctly, do not worry. This warning notification will disappear shortly. If the warning notification appears for more than one month, it means you have made a mistake in the Ads.txt file or its placement. I recommend that you fix it immediately.

Making the site SEO compatible

One of the essentials of a website is that it must be SEO compatible. This is a feature preferred by both Google AdSense and other Google platforms. SEO both increases your website quality and increases website traffic by ranking higher in search results. In short, SEO is one of the main pillars of your website. SEO is not something that can be strengthened by doing a single task. For this, many SEO factors must be considered. The main SEO factors you should pay attention to are as follows.

The website being mobile-friendly

The increased use of mobile devices today makes it necessary for websites to function fully on mobile devices. The algorithms of Google and other search systems check whether websites are mobile-friendly. To check whether your website is mobile-friendly, you can test it using one of the mobile compatibility test tools. For example, you can go to the smallseotools.com website and test your website by placing your link in the test box.

Fast loading of site pages

People of the modern world are impatient. They no longer want to wait for pages that load slowly. Therefore, fast-performing sites are considered a great advantage. You can test whether your website is fast by measuring its speed. If there are factors affecting your website’s speed, you can eliminate these negatives and ensure it runs fast. You can measure your website’s speed with Google PageSpeed Insights. In addition, you can also perform the following actions to increase your website’s speed.

  • Optimize images
  • Use lazy load
  • Use cache plugins (for example, WP Rocket)
  • Hosting must be high quality
  • Make sure you have an SSL certificate

It is important that your website has an SSL certificate. With this certificate, you can ensure that your website is secure and also provide security for your website. You can find out whether your website has an SSL certificate by looking at your site link. On sites without an SSL certificate, HTTP is written at the beginning of the site link. In addition, a notification that the site is not secure appears. However, on sites with an SSL certificate, HTTPS is written. If HTTPS is not written at the beginning of your website link, I recommend that you obtain an SSL certificate immediately.

In the articles you share on your website, use both internal and external backlinks. In addition, I recommend that you pay attention to the backlinks you receive for your website. In recent algorithm updates, Google gives more importance to backlinks than keywords. Avoid giving backlinks to irrelevant pages, from websites that are not compatible with your content, or backlinks provided via bots. Such backlinks are later detected by Google’s PageRank algorithm and negatively affect site performance.

Site structure and menus

The appearance of your site and the menus used should be user-friendly. Complex website menus can bore users and force them to leave the site. This keeps users’ time on the website short. As a result, your website performance is negatively affected. It is mandatory that website menus are easy to use for users and that menu transitions work.

In some cases, website owners do not pay attention to the structure of site links. With a properly established link structure, you can increase website SEO performance. You can see incorrect and correct link structures below.

  • Incorrect: www.yourwebsite.com/p123?=a23
  • Correct: www.yourwebsite.com/adsense-approval-rules

The above-mentioned do not represent all SEO factors. However, in general, these are the points to pay attention to. It is stated that Google uses more than 200 SEO factors to rank websites. By conducting continuous research and tests, you can achieve perfect SEO performance. For this, you can refer to websites that write blogs about SEO. By reading the blogs written on these sites, you can improve both yourself and your website. As an example, I recommend the following 10 websites.

Sharing quality and original articles on the site

The articles you share on your website must belong to you. Articles you copy from anywhere or articles written by artificial intelligence may cause you not to get AdSense approval. Make sure that the articles on your website consist of a minimum of 600 words. It is almost impossible to get AdSense approval with short articles. It is mandatory to have at least 25–30 articles on your website. In addition, your articles should be suitable for users’ interests and should be searched topics. Never share articles written by others. This will prevent you from getting AdSense approval.

Sharing original image and audio files on the site

The second nuance as important as the articles on the website is the audio and image files you share within the article. I do not recommend using images, videos, and audio you get from stock sites. Especially do not use copyrighted files under any circumstances. Instead, prepare the images, audio, or videos yourself. Let’s assume that you quote a video from YouTube and share a commentary article about that video. In this case, you cannot download the video from YouTube and share it on your site. However, you can share that video on the site via a link or embed code. You can prepare the cover images of your articles in Canva or similar AI-supported design tools.

High site traffic

The higher the traffic of the website you have newly opened, the faster your AdSense review process will be and the easier it will be to get AdSense approval. Website traffic is one of the essentials for AdSense approval. Why would AdSense place ads on a site that no one uses and only the founders enter and exit? Ask yourself this question. You can try different methods to increase your website traffic. For example, you can attract users from search engines by writing SEO-compatible articles or increase your site traffic by sharing your links in groups on social networks. However, try not to drive all your traffic from links you share on social networks. Because if most of the traffic comes only from shared links, AdSense considers this traffic as useless and does not approve it.

Attention: Driving bot traffic to your website will prevent you from getting AdSense approval. In addition, Google algorithms can detect bot traffic. Such situations push you ten steps back instead of making your job easier. Playing the game according to the rules is the shortest way.

The domain age of the site

For Google to recognize a website as a reliable and real platform, it needs to examine the site regularly for 4–6 months. During this period, the site’s traffic, sharing frequency, and user reactions are carefully measured. Based on these indicators, the site is evaluated by Google. If the site is managed in accordance with Google rules and SEO work is done correctly, its chance of ranking high in search results increases.

It is recommended that you have a website that has been active for at least 4 months so that Google can fully recognize your site. It is more appropriate not to apply to AdSense in the first month the site is opened. From the day you purchase the domain, you should work on setting up the site and enriching it with quality content for at least 4 months. After this process is completed, applying for AdSense will give more accurate and effective results.

Adding the site to Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager

One of the essentials of a website is that it is added to Google measurement and analysis platforms. By adding your website to Google Search Console, Google analyticks and Google tag manager, you can both measure and analyze your site traffic and increase your chances of getting AdSense approval. Through these platforms, you can give Google the message that your website is reliable and functioning correctly. This will positively affect AdSense approval.

What I have stated above will both increase the quality of your website and make it easier for you to get AdSense approval.
