Free YouTube Money Making Course – Lesson 2
As you know, YouTube is one of the largest video platforms in the world. For a platform of this size to be a useful place for everyone, certain rules have been established. These rules ensure that YouTube remains a safer, more enjoyable, and pleasant environment. In this lesson, you will learn the main rules to pay attention to when sharing videos on YouTube.
YouTube community guidelines.
YouTube community guidelines show channel owners what types of content they can share. By sharing videos within these rules, you can protect your channel from risks. The main points to pay attention to are as follows. YouTube strictly monitors the following prohibitions:
- 18+ content,
- Assault, violence, and similar behaviors
- Encouraging and promoting bad habits,
- Cyberbullying and similar behaviors,
- Insulting, providing false information, and similar behaviors.
Note that if these violations are detected by YouTube bots, the video is deleted. Such video deletions result in a penalty for the channel called a Copyright Strike. You can learn more about copyright notices from our lessons What is a copyright strike? Does a copyright strike harm a YouTube channel? Some videos may pass the bot scanning process but later be reviewed based on complaints, and if there is a rule violation, the video is permanently deleted. Avoiding such cases will protect your channel from risks.
Copyrights
YouTube has established copyright rules to protect the rights of content owners. In short, you cannot share someone else’s video or audio. Copyright is enforced by the Content ID algorithm. In the next lesson, I will provide more detailed information about copyrights. This topic should be the one you pay the most attention to because sharing any content belonging to someone else can lead to unexpected consequences in the future. Of course, these consequences will not be pleasant. These results will certainly not be pleasant. Therefore, I strongly advise you to pay special attention to the lesson on What are YouTube copyrights?
YouTube monetization (earning money) rules
To earn revenue from your YouTube videos, you must join the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). This program allows channel owners to earn revenue from videos. To be accepted into YPP, you must pay attention to the following rules:
- Your videos must comply with YouTube community guidelines,
- They must comply with YouTube terms of service,
- Copyrights must not be violated,
- Content must not be reused.
When preparing your YouTube channel for monetization, you must definitely take these rules into account. Remember, to earn money from YouTube, it is not enough to just meet the required watch hours and subscriber limits. You must also follow the rules.
